Teaching the Bible Grant program provides support for teaching the Bible at Presbyterian-related colleges, universities, and secondary schools. Previous awardees have used the grant to develop new curriculum and experiment with the approaches to teaching. Programs led by chaplains have offered an emphasis on developing spiritual gifts through small group study, community building, outreach, and spiritual formation.
With funding available to support up to five $10,000 awards, Presbyterian Mission Agency seeks proposals for programs using the Bible and the fundamental teachings of Christian churches at Presbyterian-related colleges, universities, and secondary schools.
Teaching the Bible Grant is not renewable. Applicants may request support for established programs as well as new programs.
Criteria
- Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) related secondary school, college or university
- Institutions awarded in the prior year are not eligible.
- Institutions previously awarded must have final report on file.
Range of award
The budget for this program is $100,000 per year. We will consider proposals for programs of no more than 24 months duration. We will consider any grant proposals that use the Bible and the beliefs of reformed Christians to serve the needs of the student and school. You are welcome to use the focus topic in the guidelines or to propose a use that incorporates the Bible and the beliefs of reformed Christians.
We will consider grant requests in excess of $15,000 for programs that benefit more than one related school, college, or university.
