Drawing from the four corners
of God's whole creation,
and hovering within the backdrop
of God's blue sky and green earth,
is a multicolored pinwheel
revolving in the winds of the Spirit,
whereby all peoples' God-given gifts
of hue and gender,
of race and ethnicity,
of culture and language
blend into one colorful vision
of promise and possibility.

Each of the pinwheel's six vanes
is distinct and unique,
sign and symbol of
African Americans
Asian Americans
Hispanic-Latina/o Americans
Middle Eastern Americans
Native Americans and
New Immigrant Americans
who in cooperative movement
revolve together
as the whole people of God.

At the Crosscenter
of the pinwheel is
Christ
Jesus
who
"becomes for us the One
who holds all things together." (Paraphrase of Colossians 1:17b)
