Social Witness Policy Internship Leadership Program

Provides year-long internship experience for a seminary student involving the intern in the development and interpretation of PC(USA) social witness policy. The intern will be exposed to current social justice issues at the Presbyterian Center, the Presbyterian Washington Office and the Presbyterian United Nations Office, learn research techniques, work with small diverse groups in developing policy and engage the church through interpreting policy. Intern will work cooperatively with the staff team for the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy. (ECO #051901)

Social Witness Policy Translation Fund

This fund will provide resources for the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy to translate selected social witness policies and studies for priority audiences. The ACSWP would like to reach more people with social witness policies and resources and allow its Web pages to reach broader audiences. (ECO #051904).

Social Witness Policy and Interpretation Endowment Fund

This fund will assist in the ongoing development and interpretation of social witness policy by the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy. The Endowment Fund will provide resources for the ACSWP to develop new policies, apply current policies to new situations, and produce interpretation resources and studies to promote social witness in the church. It is an opportunity for you to give the gift that keeps on giving. (ECO # 051903).

Theological Educators for Presbyterian Social Witness

The Theological Educators for Presbyterian Social Witness is a group of Presbyterian ethics professors who primarily teach in the theological seminaries and colleges and those who have had involvement in the development of the church’s social witness policy. The group meets once a year at the various seminaries to foster community among Presbyterian ethicists, to learn about the context of ethical thought on the various campuses through interaction with faculty, administrators and members of the community, to consult with one another on current issues of contemporary concern to church and society, to enhance their pedagogical skills and to be familiar with recently approved Presbyterian social witness policy and to offer reflection on policy in the development stage. Churches Center for Theology and Public Policy

The Churches’ Center for Theology and Public Policy is a national, ecumenical research center on justice, peace and ecological integrity. It has a distinctive vocation to interpret the implications of Christian theology and ethics for public policies in order to strengthen the political witness of Christians and their churches. It provides counsel, research, forums, conferences, lect8ures and publications, including the occasional Shalom papers. Its offices are at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. (ECO # 049988).
