All Women in the church

Find sojourners in the pilgrimage of faith — from spiritual seekers to leaders in the church.

You’re invited!

Join other members of AllWomen in the church to talk further about the articles shown here. Or start your own thread to speak to women in the PC(USA) about liturgy, calling, worship resources, good books, advice on parenting, careers or prayer.

You’re invited to share your thoughts and opinions freely, while respecting other members’ perspectives and contributions as well. Each thread, while focused on different topics, relates to the underlying theme of living out faith as women and Presbyterians. If conversations stray from this theme or become disrespectful, a moderator will prod the conversation back on track.

Talk Back: What movies or television shows inspire you spiritually?

Is there a scene from a film that sparked a spiritual conversation for you? Here are some films that many viewers and critics name for the provocative examination of faith: Sister Helen Prejean’s interaction with death row inmates in Dead Man Walking or the brutal violence and search for redemption in Schindler’s List or Hotel Rwanda.

Do you remember a character from a television series that emulated a real life struggle with faith? The teenage character of Joan in the short-lived drama Joan of Arcadia lived out many familial and spiritual struggles. Or, the casts and plotlines of pop culture favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the more nostalgic Touched by an Angel both had fans and detractors who analyzed the show for deeper spiritual meaning.

Join the forum and share your picks and pans of shows and films that prompted discussion of faith among your friends and family.

Talk Back: What are the key experiences that help formed your faith?

What one experience created a positive turning point in your faith journey? Perhaps it was six summers attending church camp, an influential youth group leader while in high school, or a short term mission trip with other adults from your church — join others in the forum and share what event, experience or relationship shaped your Christian faith.
