Many Asian-American congregations are facing a major challenge in leadership changes from the pioneering leaders to the next generation leaders, from Asian native speaking leaders to English speaking leaders, and from pastor-led leadership to congregation-led leadership. At this cross road of ministry, the Office of Asian American Leadership offers consultations related to cultural and linguistic issues in the ministry of Asian-American congregations such as:

 
     
 

English Speaking Ministry

  • To provide common ground with English speaking second generation in the context of non-English speaking congregations
  • The models of English speaking ministries available which are adaptable to the local Asian-American congregations

Church Education Program

  • The future direction of educational ministries of Asian-American congregations to accommodate the needs of the second generation
  • Culturally sensitive tools and resources of educational ministry to Asian-American congregations
  • Organizing intergenerational and bilingual teams of educational ministry

Lay Leadership Development

  • Church officers training program for elders and deacons with ministers
  • Leadership development for men’s ministry and women’s ministry in the church
  • Collegiate ministry and young adults' ministry

Church Renewal

  • A session or a weekend of spiritual discipline program for the congregation
  • How to start small group ministries and provide resources for ongoing leadership training for small group leaders
  • Issues of Asian-American theology and ministry and impact on the future of Asian-American church
