The 57th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), a functional commission of the United Nations, will meet from March 4-15, 2013 in New York City. During the commission, UN member states evaluate progress and formulate policies to promote gender equality. The 57th Session of the CSW will focus on the elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls. Participation in the CSW provides an opportunity to practice global discipleship by advocating for justice for women and networking with sisters and brothers in Christ. The Presbyterian Ministry at the United Nations, Presbyterian Women, and Young Women's Leadership Development coordinate the Presbyterian Delegation.
