  Environmental Toxins

in their bodies and in their futures. . . ”

— A Vision for Children and the Church, 205th GA (1993)

Exposure to environmental toxins occurs disproportionally in areas where low-income families live. Contaminated water supplies, toxic waste dumps and exposure to lead-based paints are among the environmental toxins that threaten the health of children. Of particular concern in 2006 are the toxic chemical wastes and molds left behind when the flood waters receded in New Orleans.
