Champions for Children Stroller Brigades
Grab your strollers and join the Brigade!
November 4 in Washington, D.C., November 8 across the country
On Wednesday, November 4, the Children's Defense Fund (CDF) is organizing a Champions for Children Stroller Brigade in the nation's capitol to tell Congress and the president that real, not hollow, child health reform for children means accessible, affordable and comprehensive care for all children no matter where they live. This "All Children, All Services, Everywhere" message will be delivered by children, their parents, grandparents and other champions for children across America.
CDF also will be announcing that "The Strollers Are Coming" to selected Congressional districts across the country on the November 8 weekend where concerned citizens will tell members of Congress back home that it's time to stand up for our children's healthcare.
What a travesty it will be if nearly a trillion dollars is spent on health "reform" and millions of children are left worse rather than better off without an accessible, affordable and comprehensive child health care system that works — no matter where they live.
We need Congress and the president to support child health reforms that build on what works.
So far, stroller brigades are being planned for Arkansas, California, Florida, Louisiana, Montana, New York, North Dakota, Ohio and Texas.
Find out more and learn how you can be involved by joining in a National Conference Call with CDF president Marian Wright Edelman on Tuesday, October 20.
