It has come to our attention
that some users are experiencing problems with session timeout.
What you may experience is the page expiring and returning you
to the login screen. After twenty- five minutes of inactivity
in the application, the system will log you out of the application.
This is standard practice when dealing with sensitive and personal
data, such as the data stored within the CLC database.
Session timeouts occur when there is no activity after twenty-five
minutes in the system. This means, if you are not clicking or
moving something within the application you will be timed out.
This happens if someone gets up from their PC and leaves for
an extended period of time. In CLC this frequently occurs when
a person is filling out a narrative section of a CIF or PIF.
Here are a few helpful hints to alleviate the problems
with the timeout.
- Click the link; this option lets you save your work and
return later to continue where you left off.
- Do a “partial” PIF Part I and Part II,
excluding the following: narratives, work history, and other
services. You must include at least one reference on the form,
and then hit the “save my place and return later”
link, and this will allow you to make changes and updates
if you wish and come back at a later time. Click “Resume”
and you will go back to the last page you updated. (You should
see your CIF or PIF on the home page.)
- Do a “partial” CIF Part I and Part II,
excluding the narrative and position description, but you
must include at least one reference, and the PNC or
Search committee details on the form. Hit the “save
my place and return later “ link and this will allow
you to make changes and updates if you wish and come back
at a later time. Click “Resume” and you
will go back to the last page you updated.
- If you have to type in long narratives, first type your
document in Microsoft Word or some other word processing software.
Then you can copy and paste your text into the narratives.
CLC has grown over the years and we are continually making
changes to improve performance and functionality in the system.
We hope these few suggestions will help you to better navigate
CLC.
