The Presbyterian Communicators Network conference this year was a great success due in large part to all the wonderful speakers and workshop leaders who gave of their time and knowledge. More than 150 communicators from across the denomination came together Louisville, Ky., to worship, network and gather information to assist them in being better communicators. As a result a bounty of bright ideas were shared.

We’ve provided information about some of the workshop presentations and we’ll add more in the coming weeks.

During the conference, the Rev. Tom Taylor, General Assembly Council’s Deputy Executive Director for Mission, gave a dynamic presentation that had a strong impact on the group. He shared information and a video about the stark reality of what different types of people would ask God if they had a chance. Taylor also talked about how this postmodern, wired society views church in today’s world. Another video Taylor showed the group spoke to this point with humor, and a bit of pointed truth.

An Audience With God
If you could ask God one question, and you knew that he was listening, what would it be? To learn more about this video, visit the Highway Video Web site and then choose Visual Illustrations, Volume 4, then choose "An Audience with God."

meCHURCH
This video addresses the "me first" society by showing several humorous but ridiculous requests which help remind us that we should not ask our church to serve us.

It’s hard to believe, but soon we will start planning our regional meetings for 2008. Dates and locations for those events will be announced in the next several weeks.
