Wednesday, Oct. 24

Noon Seminar begins with lunch at John Knox Center

1:30 p.m. Walking tour of Geneva. We will take the city bus to the Cornavin Station, where we will meet our guide, Bianca Dompieri. Our tour will take us from the Cornavin train station across Lake Geneva to the historic Old City. The tour will end at the Reformation Wall, and we will take a city bus back to Grand Saconnex and the John Knox Center.

6:30 p.m. Dinner at John Knox Center, followed by a brief orientation

Thursday, Oct. 25

7:00–8:00 a.m. Breakfast at John Knox Center
8:10 a.m. Depart for Ecumenical Center
8:30–8:45 a.m. Morning worship at the Ecumenical Center
8:45–10:15 a.m. Introduction to the World Council of Churches
10:15–10:45 a.m. Coffee break
10:45–12:30 p.m. Meeting ECLOF
12.30–2:00 p.m. Lunch in the cafeteria of the Ecumenical Center
2:30–4:00 p.m. Visit the United Nations High Commission of Refugees
6:30 p.m. Dinner at John Knox Center

Friday, Oct. 26

7:00–9:00 a.m. Breakfast at John Knox Center
9:00–10:30 a.m. Meet with director of John Knox Center to hear about the ministry and history of the center
10:30–11:00 a.m. Walk to the Ecumenical Center
11:00–12:30 p.m. Meet with Action by Churches Together (ACT)
12:30–2:00 p.m. Lunch in the cafeteria of the Ecumenical Center             
2:00–5:30 p.m. Visit to International Museum of the Reformation     
6:30 p.m. Dinner at John Knox Center

Saturday, Oct. 27

7:00–8:00 a.m. Breakfast at John Knox Center
8:30 a.m. Depart for a full-day sightseeing excursion to Gruyeres and the Chateau de Chillon on Lake Geneva. Drive past fruit orchards and vineyards before heading into the mountains to Gruyeres. In Gruyeres we will visit the cheese factory to see how Gruyere cheese is made and tour the Chateau of the village. Before leaving Gruyeres, we will enjoy a traditional Swiss meal of either fondue or raclette. After lunch we will go to the Chateau de Chillon on Lake Geneva for a guided tour of the Chateau made famous by Lord Byron.
6:30 p.m. Dinner at the John Knox Center.

Sunday, Oct. 28

8:00–9:00 a.m. Breakfast at John Knox Center
Opportunities for Sunday morning worship:
10:00 a.m. St. Pierre Cathedral, Swiss Reformed (French)
11:00 a.m. The Auditoire of John Calvin, Church of Scotland (English)
11:00 a.m. International Lutheran Church (English)
We will take the city bus to Old Town, where all of these churches are
located. Lunch is on your own, followed by a free afternoon to explore
Geneva, visit museums or relax.
7:00 p.m. Dinner in a local restaurant

Monday, Oct. 29

7:00–8:00 a.m. Breakfast at John Knox Center
8:30–8:45 a.m. Morning worship at the Ecumenical Center
9:00–10:30 a.m. Meeting with director, Faith & Order Team
10:30–11:00 a.m. Coffee break
11:00–12:30 p.m. Individual meetings with WCC staff (make own arrangements) or visit the library
12:30–2:30 p.m. Lunch in the cafeteria of the Ecumenical Center
2:30–3:30 p.m. Meeting with Unity, Mission & Spirituality
3:30–4:00 p.m. Tea break
4:00–5:00 p.m. Meeting with General Secretary, World Council of Churches
Night free (dinner on your own)

Tuesday, Oct. 30

7:00–8:00 a.m. Breakfast at John Knox Center
8:30–8:45 a.m. Morning worship at the Ecumenical Center
9:00–10:30 a.m. Meet with Justice, Diakonia and Responsibility for Creation
10:30–11:00 a.m. Coffee break
11:00 a.m. Departure for the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey
12:30–2:30 p.m. Lunch in Bossey
2:30–3:30 p.m. Introduction to Bossey (guided tour)
3:30–4:00 p.m. Tea break
4:00–5:30 p.m. Meeting with Bossey faculty to learn about the academic programs
6:30 p.m. Dinner at John Knox Center

Wednesday, Oct. 31

7:00–8:00 a.m. Breakfast at John Knox Center
8:30–8:45 a.m. Morning worship at the Ecumenical Center
9:00–10:30 a.m. Meeting with Inter-religious Dialogue & Cooperation
10:30–11:00 a.m. Coffee break
11:00–12:30 p.m. Meeting with General Secretary, World Alliance of Reformed Churches
12:30–2:30 p.m. Lunch in the cafeteria of the Ecumenical Center
2:30–3:30 p.m. Meeting with Public Witness
3:30–4:00 p.m. Tea break
4:00–5:00 p.m. Closing worship with Holy Communion at the Ecumenical Chapel, led by the group
6:00 p.m. Farewell reception and dinner at John Knox Center
