Multicultural Church Institute courses

Each institute course offers instruction and inspiration to enable clergy and laity to work toward biblical visions of all races, nations, tribes and tongues and to praise and serve God in diverse and inclusive communities of faith. Instructors are experienced practitioners, scholars and authors who share the vision of a church as diverse, colorful and inclusive as the Church of the Pentecost.

These courses are accredited by New York Theological Seminary for seminary and continuing education credit. For more information, download a brochure. PDF icon

The Big Tent

June 11—13, 2009

And the Word Became Flesh - an extraordinary celebration of Presbyterian ministries

This first of a kind celebration will offer participants the opportunity to experience 10 different  Presbyterian ministry conferences — all under one roof — over a three-day period.  Partner groups will hold their conferences simultaneously and members of those groups can attend as they do traditionally. The added feature of the Big Tent allows additional “common time” for participants to attend workshops that might be outside their core interest or affiliation.  Vibrant worship, blessed meals and an uplifting Saturday night celebration will also be times this entire Presbyterian family will come together as one. Conference partners include New Immigrants Consultation, National Multicultural Church Conference, National Elders Conference, Committee on Ministry/Committee on Preparation for Ministry Consultation, Racial Ethnic Convocation, Stewardship Conference, Communicators Network, Peacemaking Conference, Biennial Social Justice Conference and the Evangelism and Church Growth Conference.

So if you’re a card carrying partner member or a novice who wants to come and experience these different ministries for the first time, save the date:  June 11-13, 2009,  Atlanta, Georgia. Download a flier. PDF icon
