Further steps to take in electric stewardship

  1. Set a timeline to implement the rest of the recommendations in the energy audit and create a plan and timeline to meet your goals.
  2. Incorporate creation stewardship as a theme in the preaching, teaching, and community life of the congregation.
  3. Find out what other churches in your presbytery are doing and partner with them in common efforts for environmental stewardship! Call your presbytery office to make inquiries or call your presbytery's Restoring Creation Enabler. (To inquire if your presbytery has an RCE, call 888-728-7228 ext 5811.)
  4. Sign a congregational energy pledge. (See a sample pledge)
  5. Become an EPA Energy Star Congregation. Call EPA toll free at 888-STAR-YES for help with any measures of energy efficiency and conservation your church is undertaking! The Web site, www.epa.gov/congregations, contains a host of helpful information on energy efficiency, an email update list, a national awards program, a free energy efficiency manual, and more.
