Step 1: Find Your Unreached People
Pray for Guidance - Making a commitment to share good
news with an unreached people group begins with and is sustained
by prayer. Ask God for guidance as your church or small group
considers undertaking this significant task.
Consult - Consult specialists on the staffs of Presbyterian
Frontier Fellowship and Presbyterian Center for Mission Studies
for assistance in thinking through which unreached people group
you might choose.
Use your "Natural Bridges of God" - You may
be surprised by connections your church already has an unreached
people group. Does your church have missionary connections with
the unreached? Has God brought the frontier mission field to
a city near you , perhaps to your local university? Looking
for those already established natural affinities for a people
can lead you to your people group. (Use Presbyterian Frontier
Fellowship's Instant Inventory, available by clicking
here.)
Learn - OK. Youve got several possible groups
in mind. Now learn some things about them. There will be more
information on some people groups than others. You may decide
that you want a people group about whom there is much information.
This also allows you to network with other churches who selected
the same people group. Or, you may be challenged to commitment
to a group about whom little is known.
Step 2: Choose Your Unreached People
Choose - With input from the church mission committee
and the congregation, the session should select an unreached
people group.
Inform us - Inform the Worldwide Ministries Division
(1-888-728-7228 ext. 5262) of your commitment using the form
"Commitment to Share Good News Statement of Intention,"
Copy it and submit this form to The Office of International
Evangelism. You will officially join a growing network of Presbyterian
churches committed to seeing a church for every people
and the Gospel for every person. A special Commitment
Certificate is available and can be presented to your church
at your presbytery meeting or mailed directly to you.
