Considering seminary? Currently attending? This 30-minute video from Auburn Seminary explores financial aid from the perspective of five recent graduates, sharing their financial journey through seminary.

There is no one size fits all solution to financial aid, but there are some basic things that every student should do.

• Know how much educational debt you currently have and what your repayment obligations are, visit National Student Loan Data System.
• Complete a a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
• Apply to your seminary for aid.
• Seek assistance from family and friends, as well as foundations (try Fund Finder), church and presbytery.
• Plan to live like a graduate student now — make a budget and reduce living expenses.

Laura Bryan to head Office of Financial Aid for Studies

Experienced administrator claims nearly 15 years of service with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)

LOUISVILLE, KY — Laura Bryan, who joined the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s stewardship education team in June 1996 and has most recently served as program assistant for student loans in the Office of Financial Aid for Studies (FAS), has been promoted to the position of associate in that office. In her new role, Bryan will have oversight of FAS, which awards more than $1 million annually to PC(USA) students pursuing undergraduate, graduate and post graduate degrees. [Read more]

My church is my strength. My church has provided me with such an amazing cloud of witnesses. They have helped shape me and made me the person I am today.

I love being at the lake with family and friends. It is such a wonderful time to leave all the stress of daily life behind and recognize the beauty of the world and the ones we hold dear.

I am Presbyterian because within this body of the church I feel welcomed, comforted, supported, challenged and moved. Even though I was brought up in the Presbyterian church, I have had the opportunity to explore other denominations.
