| Erica Rembert
is a middler at Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminaries. Middlers,
as you might conclude, are students in the second year of a
three-year Master of Divinity program. A graduate of University
of South Carolina, Erica is a native of Sumter, South Carolina
and a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Dalzell, South
Carolina.
It was through her participation in the life of Ebenezer Presbyterian
Church that Erica began to discern God’s call in her life,
specifically to teach and preach God’s Word.
Erica serves as the secretary for the student fellowship at
Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary and shows evidence of
her gifts for ministry in other ways. She serves as pulpit supply
for churches in South Carolina, and worships and assists at
New Life Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. Erica represented Johnson
C. Smith at the Charleston Atlantic Presbyterian Women’s
Helpshop, and serves as a 2005-6-covenant group mentor with
the Youth Hope Builders Academy sponsored by the Interdenominational
Theological Center.
Her ultimate goal is to be ordained as a minister of Word
and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and she is
willing to serve wherever God calls her. In 2005-6 Erica Rembert
was awarded the Presbyterian Study Grant and the Racial Ethnic
Supplemental Grant.
