| RICHMOND, June 28 - Pastors who worry that they'll suffer from "General Assembly withdrawal" next summer got some welcome news at Monday's Assembly breakfast:
Now that the PC(USA) is moving to biennial Assemblies, a new National Pastors' Conference is planned for the first off-year.
"A Pastor's Sabbath" is scheduled for May 27-30 (Memorial Day weekend), 2005, at Snowbird Resort near Salt Lake City, UT.
The Rev. Bill Forbes, a member of the planning committee, said it will be an occasion for prayer, worship, rest and renewal. Speakers will include Walter Brueggeman, Tony Campolo, James Forbes and Barbara Brown-Taylor.
Registration opens on July 20. After that date, more information will be available online at www.pcusa.org/pastorsabbath/. |
