One of the
items of business before this year’s assembly is the election
of the Stated Clerk of the General Assembly. The Stated
Clerk Review and Nomination Committee, which was elected
by the 215th General Assembly (2003), has been diligent in its
work and careful to follow the process detailed in the Standing
Rules of the Manual of the General Assembly. After reviewing
the current Stated Clerk’s work over the last four years,
and after the Stated Clerk’s declaring his intention to
be renominated to another term, the committee has nominated
the Reverend Clifton Kirkpatrick for
another four-year term.
Three additional individuals have declared
their intention to stand for the office. They are the Reverend
Bob Davis, the Reverend Rus Howard,
and Elder Alex Metherell.
The complete information about each of the candidates is also
available as a 28-page printable document for your convenience.
