Discounted rates at fifteen Birmingham hotels, (see list and map), are available to all registered participants, including observers and those attending only part of the assembly.

To book at room at the rates listed below, you must register for the assembly through GA Meeting Service. Do not call the hotel directly.

The registration procedure includes a section where you indicate your hotel preferences. You must know your arrival and departure dates before you begin.

The assembly guarantees all reservations made through the GA Meeting Service, so participants do not need to pay a deposit to the hotel to secure a reservation. Observers and others who pay their own travel expenses will pay their room charges to the hotel in full at check-in with a credit card or cash.

Roommates

The GA Meeting Service provides roommate-matching assistance for commissioners and advisory delegates.

Other participants who wish to share rooms are responsible for making their own arrangements with a roommate. When two registered participants arrange to share a room, each must register separately; the reservation is not made until both have been processed.

Hotel Assignments and Confirmations

Hotel reservation requests are processed in the order they are received. Therefore, register as early as possible, and rank ALL the hotels in order of preference. Use the "Special Requests" field to indicate any disabilities, need for special assistance, or other factors pertinent to your housing assignment or participation.

Most assembly participants will have a reservation at a hotel outside the downtown area (see hotel list and map) and complimentary shuttles will be provided.

Three of the 15 assembly hotels (with a total of 730 rooms) are located downtown within walking distance of the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC). Commissioners and some other official participants have priority for assignment to these hotels.

You will receive a hotel assignment notice from the GA Meeting Service within about four weeks of your completed registration.

Shuttle Service

Complimentary assembly shuttle service will operate between the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) and all of the assembly hotels (except the Sheraton and the Hampton Inn Mountain Brook).

Service will be frequent in the morning and evening, and at least hourly in the off-peak hours. The detailed shuttle schedule will be available later.

Other Housing

Observers who choose not to take advantage of the special assembly housing rates may make their own arrangements elsewhere. They are responsible for arranging their own ground transportation.
