Plan your travel as early as possible for the best fares and choice of flights. Be sure of the dates you need to travel before making your reservation — airline change fees are expensive and usually not reimbursable.

Special Instructions for Commissioners and Advisory Delegates
Commissioners, advisory delegates and other official attendees whose travel expenses are paid by a GA level entity should use the official travel agency to have the cost of their ticket and the service fee charged to the assembly or their agency.
There are two ways for commissioners and advisory delegates to book travel:
1. Book Online using a site that has been set up specifically for commissioners and advisory delegates
- Go to TheTravelAuthority.com
- Click on "Join Now" under "Welcome to The Travel Authority" in the upper left hand corner.
- Chose option 1 (I am joining through my company) and enter this Company Account ID: General Assembly
- Enter your name, address, and other requested information on the Member Registration page.
- After you have logged in, click on the "Business Travel" tab at the top of the screen; proceed to enter your departure city, travel dates, etc. (The airport code for Birmingham is BHM.)
You will see the available flights and fares, and be able to select your itinerary. Please help with our stewardship of the church's resources, and select the flights with the lowest logical fare; bookings are reviewed by Office of the General Assembly staff.
Ticket charges and the online service fee of $8 are charged to the assembly.
Commissioners and advisory delegates may book ONLY their travel to the assembly in this way. Book travel for a spouse or family member by clicking on the "Personal Travel" tab. You will need a personal credit card for charges for these personal tickets.
2. Call a Travel Authority agent at (800)634-5656 (8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., ET). Be sure to tell the agent that you are a commissioner or advisory delegate.
Review the special information for commissioners and advisory delegates before you book your travel or register and reserve a room - it includes important details about the schedule for these attendees, and travel and expense policies. |
