Presbyterianism: Principles and Practices
The Committee on Theological Education and San Francisco Theological Seminary sponsor this for-credit seminary course. It is designed to inform seminarians about the structure and mission of the PC(USA), provide firsthand experience related to how a General Assembly works and encourage focus on issues currently being debated within the denomination. Classes begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 20. Advance registration is required.
For more information contact Sue Ann Wichman.
Christian Educator Certification Course
The Association of Presbyterian Church Educators sponsors this course on the Polity, Program and Mission of the PC(USA). It fulfills two course requirements for Christian Education Certification. Participants study the PC(USA) Constitution, complete projects and attend assembly committee meetings and plenary sessions. Through exposure to the assembly they receive a broad understanding of the structure, governance and mission of the denomination. Classes begin on Saturday, June 21, and end on Friday, June 27. Registration is listed as a ticketed event during GA registration. A registration fee of $100 (the price of the “ticket”) is required in addition to the $60 GA registration fee.

Mission Tours
The Committee on Local Arrangements has planned several mission/cultural tours during the assembly. Some tours are oriented to particular San Jose and Bay Area missions, while others focus on local and regional cultural sites. The tours are likely to be very popular, and seating is limited.
Purchase tickets when you register online, go directly to on line ticket sales if you do not plan to register or download a registration/ticket order form.
These are listed in the Schedule of Events, or see fuller descriptions of the tours on the COLA Web site.
