Hot Cakes and Hot Issues: Women’s Orientation Breakfast
Ticket - $27
Sponsored by the Office of Women’s Advocacy.  Whet your appetite for justice — while enjoying pancakes — and connect with other advocates at the General Assembly. Hone your advocacy skills and learn the specifics about items of business before the assembly. Sharpen your insights while interacting with the Moderator and Stated Clerk candidates (invited). All attendees leave with a copy of the “red book,” a one-stop guide to women’s issues at this assembly.  Note: Those with dietary restrictions may request an alternate menu during advanced ticket sales only.

Presbyterians for Renewal GA Overview
Commissioners and visitors are invited to start your Assembly with PFR; coffee, pastries and presentations on the major issues coming before each GA committee.  No charge for commissioners, all others $5.

Witherspoon Society Commissioner Orientation
Ticket - $15
Overview of the Assembly — An opportunity to learn about the issues and how to be an effective participant. This program reflects a progressive view.
Location:  Ramada Limited, 455 S. Second Street, San Jose (walking distance).

8 – 10 a.m.
Meet the Candidates for Moderator
The candidates for Moderator of the 218th General Assembly (2008) will be available to meet commissioners, advisory delegates and other participants.    

9:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
General Assembly Exhibit Hall Open
From 2 - 5 p.m.the hall will be open only to commissioners and advisory delegates as part of the assembly orientation sessions.

General Assembly Convenes – Business Meeting 1
Opening business meeting. Commissioning service, key reports and the welcome from our host, the Presbytery of San Jose.

Group Lunch for Commissioners & Advisory Delegates
Ticket -  $26
This meal is provided for commissioners and advisory delegates. Others wishing to take part will purchase a ticket.

This session will include the three-part orientation for commissioners and advisory delegates and key reports.

More Light Presbyterians Reception and Dinner
Ticket - $55.00
It’s About Time: A Church for All God’s People!  Start your Assembly in good company and with hope.  All are invited to the National Welcoming & Affirming Presbyterians’ Celebration reception and dinner, hosted by More Light Presbyterians, a national LGBT Equality Network of individual members, families, churches and local chapters working for spiritual, ordination and marriage equality in the PC(USA). A festive celebration of faith, hope and love for persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities and God-given differences. Speaker: Randall Miller, program officer, Equality & Justice, at the Evelyn and Walter Haas Jr. Foundation.  The program includes national awards, legislative priorities at this GA, a Shower of Stoles Project display and Voices of Hope.
Reception with cash bar at 4 p.m.  
Ticket required for the dinner beginning at 5 p.m.

Presbyterian Outlook Dinner
Ticket - $51
Candidates for Moderator of the 218th General Assembly are invited to speak.  A distinguished Presbyterian leader will receive the Presbyterian Outlook Foundation’s Ernest Thompson Award.

National Korean Presbyterian Council Dinner
A Korean dinner for Korean commissioners, staff, guests and friends. This event is a welcome reception for all Korean Americans. Please contact Yushin Lee with any questions.
Location: Deasung Presbyterian Church, 425 Tasman Drive, Sunnyvale.
Transportation provided from the SJCC at 5:15 p.m., returning by 7 p.m..

5:30 – 7 p.m.
World Mission - Mission Personnel & Alumni Reception
Ticket - $30
Help honor our newly appointed mission personnel, our recently retired mission personnel and all who have served in mission with the PC(USA). A buffet of "finger food" will be served with a program to honor those serving in mission.

The election of the Moderator of the 218th General Assembly (2008)

10 p.m. – Midnight
Racial Ethnic and Women's Ministries Reception
This reception is the newly elected moderator’s initial introduction to the National Caucuses of the PC(USA), and the diversities and gifts they bring to the denomination.

11:30 p.m.
That All May Freely Serve Midnight Meditation and Post-Modern Prayer
