Infectious diseases such as AIDS, Malaria, and TB cause nearly half of the deaths of people under 45 in developing countries. Today there are tens of millions of African men and women infected with HIV/AIDS, plus over a million more children. These people require medical treatment, but often cannot afford it. Malaria claims more than two million lives each year and it can be easily cured with medication. Unfortunately, those who live in developing countries cannot afford the medicine needed to recover. TB also continues to be a killer despite the progress that has been made in treatment and prevention.
Gifts to this Medical Benevolence Foundation account will be used to fund programs in hospitals, community and congregation based programs to support the prevention, treatment, and cure for these diseases. |
