Re-Forming Ministry is encouraging pastoral excellence by bringing together those the church looks to for leadership in theological discernment: pastors, professors and governing body leaders. In the Reformed tradition pastors, professors and governing body officials together fulfill the teaching office in the church, yet our pattern of life most often pulls pastors, professors and governing body leaders in different directions. Re-Forming Ministry participants gather in communities of theological friendship, forging new patterns of theological reflection, engaging one another and the wider church. These activities will then influence wider circles of pastors, teachers and church officials, thus deepening theological knowledge through the church as well as strengthening the capacity of pastors to engage in sound theological teaching for their congregations. |
