Dr. Bernard Adeney-Risakotta is director of the Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies-Yogyakarta (ICRS-Yogya). The consortium includes the Duta Wacana Christian University, Gadjah Mada University, and the State Islamic University. The three schools participate in an interreligious, Ph.D. program in religious studies. Bernie teaches at all three universities. Dr. Farsijana Adeney-Risakotta is the director of Duta Wacana's Center for Research and Social Service and teaches anthropology and sociology in the Theology Faculty. She also heads the local Indonesian Women's Coalition and leads efforts of women to help the victims of the great earthquake of May 2006. In the late 1990s Bernie and Farsijana built a home in a Muslim neighborhood that is also a center for community outreach and hospitality. |
