The Presbyterian Church of Colombia is a partner of the PC(USA) and the oldest Presbyterian Church in Latin America. It is involved in a variety of activities from evangelism to servicing the displaced, a ministry endangered because of war and repression.
This fund sends and supports mission coworkers to work as pastoral accompaniers supporting and protecting those engaged in the social ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Colombia. The need for this kind of ministry has arisen as paramilitary groups have targeted for assassination those serving displaced people. Pastoral accompaniers also work closely with the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship, which recruits and trains short-term accompaniers. The Rev. Mamie Broadhurst and the Rev. Richard Williams are currently serving as pastoral accomapaniers.
