Michael and Nancy Haninger are medical missionaries working at the Christian Medical Institute of the Kasai and the Good Shepherd Hospital in Tshikaji. They serve in partnership with the Presbyterian Church of the Congo. Mike's primary role as an ob-gyn physician is training nursing and medical students, especially in reducing maternal and newborn injury and death. Nancy carries out direct patient care and regional village health education, including a project that promotes the use of the highly nutritious leaves of the moringa tree to combat malnutrition. |
