What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way to collect and monitor regular updates to Web-based content. Many Web sites, blogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as a RSS feed to whoever wants it.

Using RSS we provide regular updates to six different feeds. There are two ways to get PC(USA) RSS feeds. Subscribe to them using a feed reader or add the RSS feeds to your Web site or blog.

How does RSS work?

Every time we update one of the Web sites that we syndicate, we will update a special page called a "feed." This information will automatically update your Web site, blog or feed reader with the new information. You will be able to follow the link to read the newest information.

Callout: RSS is an easy way to collect and monitor updated information on your favorite Web sites.

Get up-to-date Presbyterian-related content for your Web site

Add PC(USA) RSS feeds to your Web site or blog to keep the content fresh and up-to-date. You'll get the latest news and information at the same time it is published.

Callout: RSS is an easy way to get fresh content for your Web pages.

What are the benefits of adding RSS feeds?

Once the RSS feed is added to your Web site or blog you don't have to do anything else. Your site will automatically include daily devotions, news headlines, new missionary letters, inspirational quotations or weekly features. Choose one or all of the six feeds we offer. As a result, traffic to your site will increase as visitors come back more often for fresh, updated content.

Read the Web the easy way with a feed reader

Feed readers or news aggregators are programs or Web sites that act like a customizable newspaper, allowing you to pull content from a variety of Web sources into one place.   Callout: RSS is an easy way to get fresh content for your Web pages.

Once you select your feed reader, you add the feeds from the Web sites you would like to monitor. Then your feed reader will begin to regularly check the feeds from the Web sites to see if they have been updated. If it has, the feed reader displays the latest content, notifying you that something new has been published.

Choose a feed reader

There are lots of different feed readers available, many that are free of charge. Some are Web-based feed readers and others are desktop-based feed readers. If you choose a desktop feed reader, you will have to install it. Web-based feed readers usually require you to create an account.
