About the Authors

Dale Lindsay Morgan was author of the Horizons 2004–2005 Bible study, What She Said: Quotable Women in Scripture and the companion piece, What She (Could Have) Said. As Bible study leader for the 1994 and 2006 Churchwide Gatherings of Presbyterian Women, Dale created the character, the Gathering Woman, to present original biblical monologues from “archaeological discoveries” dating to biblical times. Dale holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Universities of Michigan and Minnesota in communications; she holds master of divinity and doctor of ministry degrees from the Claremont School of Theology in biblical studies, with a concentration in early church history. She served as pastor of congregations in Claremont and Santa Barbara, California, for more than thirty years and has been an elected member of the General Assembly Council of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the board of trustees of San Francisco Theological Seminary.

Louise Lawson Johnson is an ordained PC(USA) minister who has served three congregations during her thirty-year ministry. Louise has a special love for studying and teaching the Bible; she taught a weekly community-wide Bible study in the Memphis area for twenty-five years. Louise is a graduate of Duke University. She holds a master of divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and a doctor of ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary. She has served the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) at General Assembly, synod and presbytery levels, including fifteen years on Princeton Theological Seminary’s board of trustees. She was project coordinator for a grant funded by the Lilly Endowment, has served as adjunct faculty at Princeton Theological Seminary, and has written adult church school curricula, Bible study leaders’ guides, and articles and chapters for a variety of publications. Louise and her husband, William Stacy Johnson, have four children and a beloved Labrador retriever.

About the Artist

M.P. (Paula) Wiggins derives inspiration from many sources. Her love of travel has taken her from the antiquities of the Middle East to the swaying palms of the Caribbean. On each journey she acquires a sense of color and time, and savors the uniqueness of each culture. Paula was born in Long Beach, California, but grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She lives in Cincinnati and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. She studied illustration at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, and specializes in religious illustration. She has illustrated books, newsletters, magazines, and bulletins for St. Anthony Messenger Press, Sojourners magazine, and many other publications. She is the founder of TheSpiritSource.com, an online collection of inspirational illustration. Paula continues her fine art work as well, with pastels, acrylic paintings, and mixed media collage pieces. Her work is on exhibition worldwide, and is included in many private and corporate collections.
