 Old Songs for a New Millennium:
A Study of Psalms (1999--2000)

This repetition leads to the arrangement of psalms into nine types of songs: celebration, instruction, remembrance, trust, vengeance, confession, praise, individual lament, and communal lament. With this thorough list, Fane Downs scrutinizes the historical and present ways in which people address God. The author expounds on a book which reads like a hymnal to help readers understand that Psalms offers the full scope of human circumstances.
