Caminhada: Walking Together in Mutual Love and Hope
The 2005 PW Global
Exchange
to Brazil
The triennial PW Global Exchange is a fact-finding, relationship-building event that focuses on issues pertinent to women and children in a particular area of the world. In October 2005, 31 PW representatives from across the PC(USA) journeyed together from Washington, D.C., to five cities in Brazil then back to Washington, D.C. Intent on walking together with Brazilian neighbors in mutual love and hope, participants listened and learned, sharing briefly the life, faith and witness of gracious hosts. Participants returned committed to telling the story of their experience. This issue of Horizons is your invitation to join the journey.

How to Use This Magazine
Horizons is the magazine of Presbyterian Women. It is planned
and designed for individuals and PW circles, newcomers and longtime
participants in the organization. You'll notice resources are
scattered throughout the magazine—in sidebars, boxes and sometimes
entire articles—because Presbyterian Women is made up of leaders,
both current leaders and women with leadership potential. Participants
in Presbyterian Women are also active—in their congregation,
community and world-so we work to include ways you can respond
to what you read in Horizons.
The purpose of Horizons magazine is the same as the purpose
of our publisher, Presbyterian Women:
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit
we commit ourselves:
- to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible
study
- to support the mission of the church worldwide
- to work for justice and peace
- to build an inclusive, caring community of women
that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses
to the promise of God's kingdom
