About This Issue
Almost everyone who has attended a Gathering will tell you that words alone can’t begin to describe the experience. Photos help, but still don’t completely capture the feeling of sitting or standing amidst more than 3,100 people, singing, laughing, praying and celebrating the end of one triennium and the beginning of the next. This issue of Horizons offers a peek at this summer’s Creation! Celebration!—hopefully stirring fond memories for those who attended and encouraging those who couldn’t be part of this Gathering to join us in 2009! Watch future issues of Horizons for more coverage of the 2006 Gathering and visit the Gathering’s Web pages, www.pcusa.org/ pwgathering.
Horizons is the magazine of Presbyterian Women. It is planned and designed for individuals and PW circles, newcomers and longtime participants in the organization. You'll notice resources are scattered throughout the magazine—in sidebars, boxes and sometimes entire articles—because Presbyterian Women is made up of leaders, both current leaders and women with leadership potential. Participants in Presbyterian Women are also active—in their congregation, community and world-so we work to include ways you can respond to what you read in Horizons. Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit
