About This Issue Anniversaries evoke lots of memories, laughter and tears, don’t they? This issue celebrates two decades of living together as one Presbyterian Women family and, incidentally, of Horizons magazine and Bible study. Older PW family members among us will recognize half-forgotten faces—pioneers who led us faithfully into God’s future. Younger PW family members will learn something about our roots—how we have come this far by faith, as women engaged in mission and service in northern and southern Presbyterian churches, long before Reunion was a gleam in General Assembly’s eye! A mood of celebration runs through every article. We have done a lot and come a long way since 1988. What does our future hold? You'll notice resources are scattered throughout the magazine—in sidebars, boxes and sometimes entire articles—because Presbyterian Women is made up of leaders, both current leaders and women with leadership potential. Participants in Presbyterian Women are also active—in their congregation, community and world—so we work to include ways you can respond to what you read in Horizons. Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit we commit ourselves:
