by Amy Starr Redwine Election Day 2007 was a nasty day in northeastern Ohio. Dark clouds hung low in the sky and a cold rain fell throughout the day. Nevertheless, after I picked up my daughter from day care, I headed to my local polling place. I bundled the baby in a sling and hustled my daughter across the parking lot. While I waited in line and voted, my daughter played on the floor, ignoring my numerous requests to please stand up. As I headed out of the room, one of the volunteers said, “Thank you so much for coming to vote today.
