Give to End Hunger
General Hunger Fund
#H999999
Presbyterian hunger fund to help end hunger worldwide.

Your congregation may also have a Cents-Ability, Two Cents A Meal or similar program that helps children (and adults) reflect about people who have little to eat. PHP's Cents-Ability materials make this educational and fun.
Your financial support enables the Presbyterian Hunger Program (PHP) to witness to the healing love of Christ and to bring hope to communities and individuals struggling with hunger. Please give generously to the above General Hunger Fund or to one of the specific Hunger Funds below.

One Great Hour of Sharing
#OG000000
Presbyterians have joined with millions of other Christians through One Great Hour of Sharing to share God's love with people experiencing need. Our gifts support ministries of disaster response, refugee assistance and resettlement and community development that help people find safe refuge, start new lives and work together to strengthen their families and communities. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance receives 36 percent of undesignated gifts, while Self-Development of People and the Presbyterian Hunger Program each receives 32 percent. |

Joining Hands
#E051608
Through Joining Hands , PC(USA) congregations will develop meaningful relationships with overseas partners involved in addressing root causes of hunger in their countries. PC(USA) presbyteries in the US will work with national networks of churches and grassroots organizations overseas to address hunger through comprehensive and coordinated activities. Participating PC(USA) congregations and their overseas partners will be trained in joint hunger initiatives focused on mutual respect and justice concerns. Through their participation in Joining Hands, Presbyterian will have opportunities to pray and to be in active solidarity with suffering and struggling communities overseas. In so doing they will be spiritually strengthened by their joint experiences and communion in ministry against hunger.

Hunger Education and Lifestyle Integrity
#H400304
Through hunger education, we shall seek to sensitize the church and the public at large to a biblical and theological understanding of hunger issues and to the dimensions of the world hunger crisis. These funds will allow us to develop specific ways in which we can respond, and encourage growth in understanding by providing educational resources and training strategies that lead our members to active participation. Gifts will also support the production of educational resources and implementation of programs that assist our members in moving toward sustainable personal and corporate lifestyles that will restore and protect all of God's creation. We shall foster the equitable sharing of God's gifts of creation and the building of community in order to help meet the critical needs of the majority of the human family that is poor and oppressed. |

Hunger Action Enabler Network
#H400306
Gifts provide financial support for Hunger Action Enablers (HAEs), who are called to serve synods and presbyteries as educators, motivators, and facilitators of hunger action. Their goal is to enable congregations and other groups within the church to gain the knowledge and skills to sustain a long-term commitment to hunger action. HAEs assist congregations and other groups to become engaged with the poor in their own communities and in other countries to address immediate needs and long-term solutions. They provide a link with a local, regional and national ecumenical agencies which address issues of direct hunger relief, hunger-related development assistance, public policy advocacy, education and interpretation about hunger and lifestyle issues, including environmental justice. As enablers of others, they provide a "switchboard" for these agencies and the national Presbyterian Hunger Program (PHP) to resource, alert, and mobilize Presbyterians for specific hunger action. |
