Who” list of the most highly educated people of African
decent in America. Many black Presbyterians were among the
first within the race to become doctors, lawyers, politicians,

Baptism of the Lord: Preparing for Growth

On the first Sunday after Epiphany, the Church celebrates
the Baptism of the Lord. As we remember Jesus’ baptism
in the Jordan River, we also mark his call to public ministry.
This is also an important time to mark and renew our call
to ministry and service by renewing our baptismal vows.
