World Day of Prayer

There are many ways to share with others around
the globe in offering prayer and praise to our one Creator.
For over a century, Presbyterian Women have sought to focus
one day of the year on the mission of the church worldwide.
Today, an ecumenical and international observance is held on
the World Day of Prayer, on the first Friday in March. More
than 170 countries and regions now participate in this observance.

Dollars and Sense

Presbyterians are generous. We gave over $2 billion through
the church last year for the sake of the gospel. We do more
together than we do separately. So where do all those mission
dollars go? Contributions received by the General Assembly
flow into two different streams. The first is used for discerning
through our elected commissioners, assemblies, and the Office
of the General Assembly (OGA); the second is used for doing
through the work of the General Assembly Council (GAC).

Start a New Tradition

If you begin on Ash Wednesday, your church can offer a seven-week
Lenten series. If you already have a traditional Ash Wednesday
service and a full Holy Week schedule, then a special five-week
series is worth considering.
