Imagine
being able to produce thoughtful, well designed, imaginative,
and ready-to-print worship services in about one-quarter the
usual time. The LabOra Worship interactive CD-ROM has been designed
for pastors, musicians, Christian educators, and administrative
assistants utilizing many of the best worship resources published
by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s Congregational Ministries,
Presbyterian Publishing Corporation, Presbyterian Association
of Musicians, and numerous ecumenical sources.
LabOra is the only resource we know of that permits worship
aids such as The Presbyterian Hymnal, the Psalter,
Book of Common Worship, Revised Common Lectionary, Book of Occasional
Services, Call to Worship, Holy Is the Lord, the Bible
(NRSV, NIV, KJV), Book of Order, and the catechisms
to interact. The software also integrates a complete calendar
of the liturgical year, sermon preparation and preaching aids,
clip art, pre- and self-designed worship templates, and a powerful
Internet search engine.
LabOra’s ability to network allows worship planners to
work collegially, from an initial Bible study of the text, through
the final detailed worship bulletin—encouraging pastors
and musicians to work together.
LabOra’s update for fall 2004 added several new hymn
supplements, the ability to download the church’s music
library and tie it into the planning calendar, a major preaching
aid, and much more. The goal for fall 2005 is to bring the various
PC(USA) ethnic worship resources into the program, including
Spanish, Korean-English, and an African American hymnal. Worship
books for each of these traditions will also be included. Imagine
praying the Lord’s Prayer or singing a common hymn in
several languages at the same time in your Sunday worship. With
LabOra you will have the resources to achieve this diversity
with ease—a particularly important feature as
the country and the PC(USA) become more racially and ethnically
diverse each year.
Other important features that come built into LabOra are sermon
writing, music writing and editing, and Bible study, as well
as translating all work into PowerPoint. |
