Are you ready to Akaloo!
The name Akaloo is inspired by the Greek word
akolouthein, meaning “to follow.” Jesus
said to his disciples, “Follow me, and I will make you
fishers of men and women.” We all want to build disciples
for life. However, we don’t always use a lifelong approach.
“Faith formation” is often limited to Sunday school
or confirmation. Akaloo changes all of that—moving beyond
Sunday school.

Offering
This vision of peace on earth among all the
nations of the world both inspires and haunts us. The vision,
which also appears in Micah 4:1–4, speaks of a time
when swords and spears, instruments of war, are no longer
needed and so are transformed into tools to be used for
harvesting food to feed the people of every nation. Such
peace is only possible when nations and peoples open themselves
to learn the nonviolent ways of God, the ways of peace.
War becomes obsolete.
