2008 Mission Yearbook
Amazing stories of your mission dollars at work
Your 2008 Mission Yearbook for Prayer and Study — with the theme, “Where two or more are gathered” — is a collection of hundreds of inspiring stories of God’s faithfulness, which is not limited by faith or numbers.
The streets of Dhaka are teeming with children who have no home. Monir is one such child. His mother died when he was a toddler, and now, at eleven, he roams the streets with a sack slung over his shoulder and scavenges for paper scraps to sell for two cents a pound; at night he sleeps in a park.
At Jokhon/Tokhon, a ministry of PC(USA)’s partner church, the Church of Bangladesh, children are welcomed with a smile, and can wash up, hear a story, learn to read and write, receive medical care, play, and have a bite to eat. It’s a safe place where kids can just be kids.
Monir dreams of traveling and of one day running a little tea stall. With the efforts of the Church of Bangladesh, the dreams of children like Monir just may come true.
