I enjoyed the article “What Makes a Denomination” by Joseph Small. I do
find it very important to use curriculum and educational materials that are Reformed. However, I have been very frustrated at the lack of Reformed theology in youth ministry. Its not the curriculum that is the problem but the congregations that hire youth pastors without Reformed backgrounds. Many congregations just hire someone who is fun and charismatic and who will produce numbers. They don't think about the fact that this is a crucial time to be teaching what it means to be a Presbyterian and how our beliefs compare to other denominations and religions. If the teens don't learn this now chances are they will go elsewhere to church after they graduate because, hey, any church will do. We are not doing right by our youth.

A: The workshops are prepared over the course of a year, so they are not all available on September 1. Please check the We Believe Workshop Web site, use the Scope and Sequence navigation on the upper right of the page, and then choose your workshop. If it is not available, the availability date will be posted.
