Since
its release in November 2003, more than 20,000 copies of the
2004 Children’s
Yearbook for Prayer & Study have been purchased
by eager Presbyterian mission committees, parents, and educators.
Like last year’s, the 2005 Children’s Mission
Yearbook for Prayer & Study will be divided into 53
two-page weekly spreads. Each spread will contain new mission
stories and photographs about one domestic presbytery and one
overseas mission locale.
Designed as a personal devotional guide for third- through
sixth-graders, the Children’s Mission Yearbook
will include a word of the week as well as Scripture and prayers,
recipes, games and puzzles, and many new activity ideas. It
can also be used as a handy reference for church school, children’s
worship, and midweek gatherings. Use ideas from the Children’s
Mission Yearbook for “Youth News” bulletin
inserts, on Web sites, or for information on upcoming events
that involve young people in your church. It is informative,
well illustrated, and interesting! The 2005 Children’s
Mission Yearbook will be an important component of the
All-Church Summer We Believe materials.
The 2005 Children's Mission Yearbook for Prayer & Study
introduces Christy Williams as its writer. Christy is a director
of Christian Education and coordinator of children’s ministry,
family ministry, and adult education. Eileen Lindner, a pastor
and a deputy general secretary at the National Council of Churches,
is a contributing writer. With this third edition, the Yearbook
continues to mature into an even more dynamic tool for use by
individuals, households, and congregations. |
