How can we grasp our rapidly changing world? One exciting way
is to take a trip and study firsthand whats going on around
us.
A travel/study seminar to Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon is scheduled
for February 526, 2003. The itinerary calls for an exploration
of the region that is the birthplace of three major religions
and where strong cultural traditions of art, music, and literature
continue.
The earliest church partnerships formed in this area with the
Presbyterian Church date back to the mid-1800s. The group will
dialogue with religious leaders about the shape and content
of mission involvement on the personal, congregational, denominational,
and ecumenical levels.
Sharon Youngs, Coordinator for Mission Interpretation and Promotion,
and Victor Makari, Area Coordinator for the Middle East Office,
will colead the group. The cost is approximately $3,000. Deadline
for applications is November 1, 2002.

For further information and/or to request an
application, contact Sharon Youngs via e-mail at
syoungs@ctr.pcusa.org or at (888) 728-7228, ext. 5114.
