Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon: A Journey to the Lands of Faith

How can we grasp our rapidly changing world? One exciting way is to take a trip and study firsthand what’s going on around us.

A travel/study seminar to Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon is scheduled for February 5–26, 2003. The itinerary calls for an exploration of the region that is the birthplace of three major religions and where strong cultural traditions of art, music, and literature continue.

The earliest church partnerships formed in this area with the Presbyterian Church date back to the mid-1800s. The group will dialogue with religious leaders about the shape and content of mission involvement on the personal, congregational, denominational, and ecumenical levels.

Sharon Youngs, Coordinator for Mission Interpretation and Promotion, and Victor Makari, Area Coordinator for the Middle East Office, will colead the group. The cost is approximately $3,000. Deadline for applications is November 1, 2002.
