What Do Presbyterians Believe about the Sixth
Commandment?
The Heidelberg Catechism tells us that we
are not to “abuse, hate, injure, or kill” our
neighbor either with “thought, or by word or gesture,
much less by deed, whether by (ourselves) or through another”
(4.105). The Heidelberg, with the Westminster Larger and Shorter
Catechisms, has helped generations of Christians explore and
more fully understand their faith from the perspective of
Reformed theology. All three are included in the Full Version
of The Study Catechism.
A shorter Confirmation Version
is also available for use by early adolescents in or out of
a classroom setting.
Belonging to God: A First Catechism
is intended for children entering third or fourth grade. Unlike
the other two books in this series, A First Catechism follows
the general contours of the biblical narrative, correlating
Scripture verses with each question and answer.
These beautiful soft-bound books published
by Witherspoon Press make great gifts for confirmations, seminary
graduations, ordinations, and installations. These books are
so portable, you can be sure they
will be well used for many years to come.
