Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations Network

The Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations Network is for Presbyterians interested and/or engaged in interfaith and ecumenical relations, who want to connect with one another for sharing and learning.

Through the network, you can let the church know of your interest and work in this area and be in more regular contact with other Presbyterians about events, activities, ideas and new resources. The network is for those working in both interfaith and ecumenical arenas, reflecting the close linkage between these areas of activity.

The Network's mission is to become a catalyst within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) for healthy and growing interfaith and ecumenical relationships at the local and regional levels. Visit the Network Web site to learn more or download this brochure. This is an Adobe Acrobat pdf document.

To be a member of the network, you should be a Presbyterian working with your presbytery, synod or congregation to build relationships and foster education related to interfaith or ecumenical issues and concerns.

Come to the 2008 Network Gathering in Chicago!

The Network will gather to spend a day together at McCormick Theological Seminary immediately before the National Workshop on Christian Unity in Chicago.  We will:

  • share new developments in life and work, with particular attention to effective models
  • meet with Muslims and Christians from the Center of Christian-Muslim Engagement for Peace and Justice to discuss challenges and opportunities for interfaith relations today
  • lunch and converse with seminarians interested in ecumenical and interfaith work
  • develop goals and a plan for the next year of Network activities

The Gathering begins at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, and will end at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14.  Transportation from the Gathering to the National Workshop on Christian Unity will be provided for those who plan to attend that event as well.

Lodging will be in the guest apartments of McCormick Seminary and Lutheran Theological School, in individual rooms with shared baths.  There are three rooms for two persons available.  The cost of lodging, meals, meeting rooms, etc., will be $95 per person.
