Anuak Bible Translation in Ethiopia ECO (863117)

The Anuak Old Testament Bible Translation work has pushed forward but still has nine Old Testament books to translate, including Ezekiel and Job. The Anuak church in Ethiopia is growing and demands for scripture have increased. God has provided a well-qualified translation team which works through our partner church Mekane Yesus and is overseen by PC(USA) missionary Marie Lusted. Your gift will help complete the Bible translation for this growing group of Christians among a large people group that extends into the neighboring country of Sudan.

Murle Bible Translation in Sudan ECO (040022)

The New Testament has been completed but the entire Old Testament remains to be translated. An office and computers have already been provided, but funding is needed for the ongoing salaries and training of indigenous translators. Many of the Murle have fled Southern Sudan to refugee camps in Kenya, and this refugee camp is the current location of the translation effort.

Contributions will be used in cooperation with various Bible Societies to translate and distribute Scriptures around the world. Recent proejcts have invluded distribution in the former Soviet republics in Central Asia, Cambodia, Thailand and among Iranians and Kurds around the world.

The Mam Presbytery of the national Presbyterian Church of Guatemala is seeking to translate the Old Testament into the Ostuncalco Mam language. a rough draft of much of the Old Testament has already been prepared, but it is only the beginning of the process. Funds will help complete this translation.
