Steering Committee's Resolution of thanks for Lucimarian's and Bill's leadership

At its meeting on April 19, 2006, the Steering Committee of the Mission Initiative: Joining Hearts and Hands passed the following resolution:

We give thanks to God for the leadership of Lucimarian Roberts and Bill Saul as Co-Moderators of the Mission Initiative: Joining Hearts and Hands.  Through their efforts the mission of Jesus Christ has been greatly advanced.

We are grateful to Lucimarian for her prayerful presence at our meetings.  Her grace, her faith, and her unwavering commitment to the church have provided inspiration for us.  We think of her as the “Matriarch of Mission.”

We are grateful for Bill’s powerful tenacity in pursuit of funds for the mission of the church.  His persistence, his vision, and his tireless energy for the campaign resulted directly in pledges totaling millions of dollars.

Because of the ministry of Lucimarian and Bill on behalf of the Mission Initiative, new mission personnel are on the field in other lands, new congregations are springing up across the country, and Presbyterians are stepping forward in new ways into the future.  These two leaders have served sacrificially and selflessly in support of the ministry and mission of the Presbyterian Church (USA). 

Thanks be to God for Lucimarian – who has been the “heart” of the campaign – and Bill – who has been the “hands” of the campaign in the name of Jesus Christ.  These true and faithful servants clearly love the church – and we love them!
