Christian-Muslim duo
from Egypt promotes understanding
Emad Ramzy Philobbos, a Christian, is a professor
at the University of Assiut, and Abou Elela Mady, a Muslim, is the General Manager
of the International Center for Studies. The two have worked together,
as participants of the Cairo based Forum Intercultural Dialogue, to promote tolerance
and equality among Christians and Muslims in Egypt. Their visit to the
United States, as part of the Interfaith Listening Program, included trips to
Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky and New York State.
The team hoped to "help
Americans learn from Egypt's experiences with interfaith relationships" Philobbos
and Mady were interviewed by the Lexington Herald-Leader after their presentation
at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. |
