Dear Friends,
So, which milestone are you passing this year in your life?
Nancy and I get to experience the thrill of being "parents
of the groom," as Josh brings a lovely young lady, Meagan
McIntosh, to join our family.
Beautiful color photos from the wedding on June 17 will accompany
our next letter. Our families will be travelling to Nashville
in just two weeks to witness this celebration of joy. Where has
the time gone? Most of us can still remember the excitement of
planning our own weddings!
Before we say much more about the summer however, wed like
to ask you to remember to pray for fruit from the evangelism trip
Jay led to Italy in April. The gospel was shared with 60 Italian
students as Black Forest Academys team of seven students
gave drama presentations and clearly shared their testimonies
in English in a high school in Bologna. A local church planter
called the workshop an "unprecedented breakthrough in sharing
the gospel with Italian teenagers."
BFA has been full this year, with 347 students whose parents
are ministering in 50 different countries. It has been our joy
to serve them and their parents.
Nancy has helped many individual students with research papers
as director of the BFA library. As the personnel office supervisor,
I have worked hard to find qualified teaching and dorm staff.
Praise the Lord, we almost have a full slate. Please pray for
two more sets of dorm parents and a Spanish teacher. Si.
You might be interested and able to help us this summer. Can
I be open with you and humbly share our needs? We need a car or
minivan that we can use to visit prayer and financial supporters
from approximately June 10 to August 8. We also need to ask for
help in finding housing for four during our short time in the
Twin Cities, just for the month of July. What a huge ministry
this would be to us if someone, or a church, could help us find
a house/apartment and a car.
As you consider your summer plans and as you hear of the plans
of others, please contact us if you feel the Lord is directing
you to share some possible solutions with us. The Lord has been
faithful to supply our needs and we are excited about telling
others what the Lord has been doing in our lives and the lives
of BFA families this past year.
"Rejoice always, again I say rejoice!" has been on
my heart this past week. What a joy it is to come into his presence
with joyful singing. BFA chapel services on Monday and Friday
mornings are filled with joyful singing.
Serving joyfully (aware that we are getting older),
