Dear Friends,
Do you remember when the Israelites were asked to bring their
gold and silver to Moses to be melted for use in the tabernacle?
Exodus 36: 5-7 says "The people bring much more than
enough for doing the work which the Lord has commanded us to do.
So Moses gave command, and word was proclaimed throughout the
camp, Let neither man nor woman do anything more for the
offering for the sanctuary. So the people were restrained
from bringing; for the stuff they had was sufficient to do all
the work, and more."
It is a rare occurrence that a need is met so abundantly that
the receiver must say, "Enough!" But we find ourselves
in that situation and are deeply grateful.
The response to the appeal for help with the medical bills for
the children burned in the Christmas fire has been so overwhelming
that we want you to know that your giving can now be directed
elsewhere. Not only have all the evacuation and medical bills
been covered, but there is enough in a trust fund to cover future
costs of therapy and reconstructive surgery as well. The children
themselves are doing very well. They are all back at school and
are keeping up with their classmates both on and off the playground!
The youngest, Sarah (6), had some more surgery done on one of
her hands over the Easter holiday. She recovered well and was
back in school when it reopened the Tuesday after Easter. Vinjeru
(9), Joseph (7), and Immaculate (10) will have more surgery at
a later time. But all are in good spirits and are reintegrated
into the life of the school. Life, in general, has moved on for
them and for the community. Gods grace, mercy and peace
are so evident, and we are grateful.
Again, in Exodus, we read "And they came, every one whose
spirit moved him, and brought the Lords offering
all
who were of a willing heart." Thank you all for your prayers,
your love and your support during these past months. Thank you
for responding with a willing heart.
Very sincerely yours,
Nancy Dimmock
